| At our March, 2005 membership meeting, we reached our goal of raising $1,000 by the end of the First Quarter of that year. Achieving our target was made possible thanks to all who have supported our efforts through donations, grants and participation in our monthly raffles. Since that time, an impressive list of books, videos and dvds related to fly fishing and fly tying have been purchased and donated to the Upper St. Clair Library. Our continuing efforts to raise funds with which to make ongoing purchases have been supported in part by a portion of the proceeds resulting from our Annual Community Fly Fishing Expos held in the Spring of each year. The Upper St. Clair Fly Fishing Club is committed to ongoing Community education on the sport and art of fly fishing. To support this goal, one of our aims is to establish a superior library of fly fishing related materials and to make these resources available to all residents of Allegheny County as well as to our members locally. The Upper St. Clair Fly Fishing Club has established an initial goal of raising $1,000 to purchase books and videos on fly fishing which will be donated to the Upper St. Clair Public Library where they will be available to all the members of our Community. Funds for this effort are being raised through Club raffles held at our monthly meetings and through donations from members and friends of the Club. The Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair has generously provided a matching grant in the amount of three hundred dollars which will help to leverage the money raised directly by the Club and the Penn's Woods West Chapter of Trout Unlimited has made a significant contribution in support of our efforts. At the Club's January, 2005 monthly meeting, the first donations of books were made to the Upper St. Clair Library. Author Tom Zacoi of Venetia was on-hand to present a limited edition hardcover copy of his recent book "Flies, Ties & Lies." Well-known steelhead guide and Pittsburgh resident, John Nagy, presented a limited edition copy of his book "Steelhead Guide." Both were accepted by Upper St. Clair Library Director Lois Hoop. Individuals interested in making tax deductible donations in support of The Upper St. Clair Fly Fishing Club's fund raising efforts are encouraged to do so. Checks should be made payable to The Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair (or CFUSC) and should contain a notation that they are for the Fly Fishing Club Library Fund.
