Lunker Trout Stocking
Neshannock Creek
The pre-season stocking of lunker trout--ranging from 16" to 8 pounds" on Neshannock Creek in Volant has become an annual tradition. This event is sponsored and funded by Neshannock Creek Fly Shop will be raffling of a new Sage Vantage rod with the proceeds going to the "lunker fund." National Capital Anglers
Annual Show
This show is produced annually by the National Capital Chapter of Trout Unlimited in the Washington D.C. area. Among many other notable guests, this year's event will feature Jack Dennis a leading guide, author and producer of videos. The one day show is held at Georgetown Preparatory School in Bethesda MD. This month's meeting will take place at the "original" USC Recreation Center Building (not to be confused with the new building on Mayview Road) on McLaughlin Run Road. The Recreation Center is the free standing building between the baseball field and the three hole golf course approximately 1/8 mile to the west of the Township Building. Program: Pro Tyer, Kieran Frye, "Winging It," a demonstration of various winging styles and techniques.

The Trout Club of The Cleveland Museum of Natural History was founded in 1978. The group’s mission is to promote public knowledge of coldwater fisheries and habitats, conservation and stream ecology. European Nymphing
For Trout
On-the-Stream Workshop
A workshop presented by our good friends Dale and Cyndi Kotowski on behalf of Venture Outdoors. The workshop will focus on European nymphing techniques originated in Poland and used by the French, Spanish and Czechs with great success on heavily fished, fast moving waters. The workshop will take place at Ohiopyle State Park in Ohiopyle and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Bring your equipment, your waders and your PA fishing license with trout stamp. Cost is $60 for Venture Outdoors members and $80 for non-members. Check the Ventures Outdoors website for more information about this program or membership.

Spring Fishing Weekend
During this three day event LL Bean's Pittsburgh store will offer a variety of educational and instructional programs. The DCNR, Fish Commission, Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau and the Boy Scouts have already commited to participate and staff (lead by Club member Bill Nagle) will host fly fishing workshops, free fly casting lessons, a fly tying contest and numerous youth activities.Watch the store's website for additional details and for location and directions.

Reel Recovery
Fly Fishing Retreat for
Men with Cancer
A two and one half day all expenses paid retreat for men who are fighting or in recovery from cancer. The retreat will be held at the Allenberry Resort on Yellow Breeches Creek in Boiling Springs PA. No experience with fly fishing is required and all equipment is supplied. For information on Reel Recovery, see www.reelrecovery.org.
