Saturday and Sunday March 13 and 14	LL Bean Fly Fishing & Tying Workshops	Workshops held each day at LL Bean's store on McKnight Road from noon to four o'clock. Saturday March 13	Lunker Trout Stocking Neshannock Creek	The pre-season stocking of lunker trout--ranging from 16" to 8 pounds" on Neshannock Creek in Volant has become an annual tradition. This event is sponsored and funded by Neshannock Creek Fly Shop will be raffling of a new Sage Vantage rod with the proceeds going to the "lunker fund." Saturday March 13, 2009	National Capital Anglers Annual Show	This show is produced annually by the National Capital Chapter of Trout Unlimited in the Washington D.C. area. Among many other notable guests, this year's event will feature Jack Dennis a leading guide, author and producer of videos. The one day show is held at Georgetown Preparatory School in Bethesda MD. Monday March 15 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.	USC Fly Fishing Club Monthly Meeting	This month's meeting will take place at the "original" USC Recreation Center Building (not to be confused with the new building on Mayview Road) on McLaughlin Run Road. The Recreation Center is the free standing building between the baseball field and the three hole golf course approximately 1/8 mile to the west of the Township Building. Program: Pro Tyer, Kieran Frye, "Winging It," a demonstration of various winging styles and techniques.
Wednesday March 17	Cleveland Museum Natural History Trout Club Monthly Meeting	The Trout Club of The Cleveland Museum of Natural History was founded in 1978. The group�s mission is to promote public knowledge of coldwater fisheries and habitats, conservation and stream ecology. The club holds monthly dinner meetings from October through May that feature nationally known speakers. For more information. Program: Hoagy Carmichael: "Fly Fishing for Atlantic Salmon"
Saturday March 20	European Nymphing For Trout On-the-Stream Workshop	A workshop presented by our good friends Dale and Cyndi Kotowski on behalf of Venture Outdoors. The workshop will focus on European nymphing techniques originated in Poland and used by the French, Spanish and Czechs with great success on heavily fished, fast moving waters. The workshop will take place at Ohiopyle State Park in Ohiopyle and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Bring your equipment, your waders and your PA fishing license with trout stamp. Cost is $60 for Venture Outdoors members and $80 for non-members. Check the Ventures Outdoors website for more information about this program or membership.
Friday - Sunday March 19 - 21	LL Bean Spring Fishing Weekend	During this three day event LL Bean's Pittsburgh store will offer a variety of educational and instructional programs. The DCNR, Fish Commission, Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau and the Boy Scouts have already commited to participate and staff (lead by Club member Bill Nagle) will host fly fishing workshops, free fly casting lessons, a fly tying contest and numerous youth activities.Watch the store's website for additional details and for location and directions.

Saturday April 3	Fly Fishing Intro	A workshop presented by our good friends Dale and Cyndi Kotowski on behalf of Venture Outdoors. Learn the basics of rods, reels, lines, tippets, knots and flies and practice casting techniques. Time will be spent "on-land" as well as in the stream so bring your waders and you Pennsylvania fishing license and trout stamp. The workshop will take place at Ohiopyle State Park in Ohiopyle and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Cost is $60 for Venture Outdoors members and $80 for non-members. Saturday April 17, 2010	Cleveland Museum Natural History Trout Club Annual Banquet & Auction	The Trout Club's banquet is an annual highlight. Proceeds from this popular event fund the group's support of various conservation and environmental programs related to coldwater fisheries. The Trout Club's Mission: Promote knowledge of cold water fisheries, fish habitat, conservation and stream ecology. For more information.

Saturday April 24	Match the Hatch: Prime Time	A workshop presented by our good friends Dale and Cyndi Kotowski on behalf of Venture Outdoors. The workshop will focus on the "whats" and the "whens" of the major hatches on our local streams and what flies to use to imitate the naturals. The workshop will take place at Ohiopyle State Park in Ohiopyle and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Bring your equipment along with waders and your Pennsylvania fishing license with trout stamp. Cost is $60 for Venture Outdoors members and $80 for non-members. Sunday April 25 7:30pm	Fly Fishing Film Tour	Hosted by International Angler with all profits to Casting for Recovery, an organization dedicated to providing fishing retreats for women recovering from breast cancer. Location: The Oaks Theater, 310 Allegheny River Boulevard, Oakmont, PA 15139. Tickets are $12.00 at the door or $10.00 if purchased in advance at International Angler.
Saturday May 1	Annual Event Day Neshannock Creekk Fly Shop Volant	Join the staff at the shop for presentations by well known and knowledgeable fly fishermen and tyers. Plans are still coming together for this event so, for more information continue to watchthe Neshannock Creek Fly Shop site.

Monday - Wednesday June 7 - 9	Reel Recovery Fly Fishing Retreat for Men with Cancer	A two and one half day all expenses paid retreat for men who are fighting or in recovery from cancer. The retreat will be held at the Allenberry Resort on Yellow Breeches Creek in Boiling Springs PA. No experience with fly fishing is required and all equipment is supplied. Monday September 21,2009 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.	USC Fly Fishing Club Monthly Meeting	Program: Dale Kotowski of Wilderness Voyageurs in Ohiopyle will talk about fishing the Youghiogheny River. Dale's past presentation to the Club was enjoyed and found informative by everyone who saw and heard it. Please come out and kick of the new season.
Saturday October 17, 2009 9:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m.	"Walk and Wade" Fly Fishing Trip on The Youghiogheny	Come and take advantage of some guided fly fishing on the Youghiogheny River between Confluence and Ohiopyle. Dale Kotowski from Wilderness Voyageurs--and our featured speaker at the September meeting will guide us along the area below the Ramcat Access Area.
Monday October 19, 2009 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.	USC Fly Fishing Club Monthly Meeting	Program: Well known fly tyer, Dave Schmezer will join us to demonstrate some of his unique patterns and techniques.
Monday November 16 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.	USC Fly Fishing Club Monthly Meeting	Program: Joe Mele, a neighbor from Peters Township who was suggested by George Pitcairn, will visit with us and tie some of his favorite patterns.
Monday December 21 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.	USC Fly Fishing Club Monthly Meeting	At this month's meeting We'll break the group into three and rotate them through three members, each of whom will demonstrate a favorite patter. Aaron Beinhauer, Ernie Kern and Bill Nagle have offered to demonstrate for the group.

Monday February 15 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.	USC Fly Fishing Club Monthly Meeting	Program: Don Hopey, Environmental Editor for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette will discuss environmental issues involved in Marcellus Shale oil drilling.
